Growing a better world together

Rabobank is an international, cooperative bank with a Dutch history. Our starting point? Together we can achieve more than we could alone.

We are happy to involve you in this approach. How we try to make a positive impact on society, both domestically and internationally. For example, in the energy and food transition. In this, we promote sustainability and cooperation. That's why our mission is ‘Growing a better world together’!

Our impact in 2024

Rabobank's strong business performance in 2024 enables us as a cooperative bank to contribute to our communities and society. As a bank without shareholders, but with client councils and 2.3 million members instead, members have a say in how the bank invests its knowledge, time, and money to make a positive impact. This is reflected in our products and services, and in the way we give back a part of our profit to our members, customers, local communities, and society through cooperative initiatives.

Cooperative contributions

Since 2023, we allocated more than EUR 700 million for our customers, members, partners and employees to support them to become more sustainable. As a cooperative bank, for the last 125 years, a part of our profits is given back to society, supporting the communities we serve. These contributions include regular social and societal contributions to the local communities and driving the energy and food system transitions through our cooperative dividend.

Cooperative initiatives for members, customers and employees

Thanks to our strong financial results, we can do more for society. At the end of 2023, we announced several cooperative initiatives. With these, we support customers, members, and employees in the transition to a sustainable future. In the summer of 2024, we added an initiative to support young people.

Cooperative initiatives for local communities

From our cooperative dividend, we support initiatives in the Netherlands that focus on neighborhoods and clubs. Our members play an important role in this. The member council determines the amount of the contribution. Besides a financial contribution, we often share our knowledge, our network, our media or deploy our people.

An example of this is Rabo ClubSupport, where our members decide which clubs and associations receive financial support from us.

Better bank, better world

As a meaningful cooperative and a rock-solid bank, a part of our profits is given back to society through our cooperative dividend and various cooperative initiatives. Making the way we live and do business more sustainable is the challenge of our time. We know change is needed and we want to contribute to that as a sustainable cooperative bank.

To us that means we act on climate, value nature and enable people. This is what makes Rabobank unique and how we are growing a better world together.
