How does it work?

With OVpay, you check in and out in the same way as with your OV chipkaart. But you use your Rabobank (mobile) debit card or credit card instead. You don’t need to activate anything beforehand. The cost of your trip is debited from your payment account at the end of the day. So you can set off without your OV-chipkaart or without loading credit on to it first. You don’t have to wait for the monthly invoice either. You know exactly how much you paid at the end of the day. The cost of your trip is the same as traveling with your OV chipkaart without any discount or season ticket.

Step by step:

  1. Check in contactless with your debit card, credit card or debit card on your phone (For example with Apple Pay or Google Pay). Tip: remove your debit card from your wallet. This prevents you from checking in with the wrong card.
  2. Reached the end of your journey? Check out contactless using the same card you used to check in. Make sure that you remove the debit card or credit card from your wallet.
  3. That’s it! Your payment is automatically debited and appears the next day in your list of payments with the reference ‘NLOV’.
