Interest rate guarantee

Do you want to continue to save some or all of your savings? You can agree a new savings term with us in the eight weeks leading up to the end date, and no later than on the actual end date. We will immediately agree a new interest rate with you. The Interest Rate Guarantee applies to your new Rabo Goal Savings agreement. You have an interest rate guarantee for the period between the date the new interest rate is agreed and the start date of your new savings term.

If the interest rate falls after these agreements have been made and your new Rabo Goal Savings term has not yet started, the agreed higher interest rate still applies. If the interest rate rises before your new Rabo Goal Savings agreement starts, you will receive the higher interest rate instead of the agreed lower interest rate. This means you are guaranteed the highest interest rate.

The interest rate guarantee only applies if you submit your choice on time and only for the portion of your savings that you continue to save.

Have you not informed us of your choice yet?

Have you not been able to make a decision? Or has the end date already passed and you forgot to inform us of your choice? No problem. If you provided us with an account number, we will automatically transfer your savings when the end date is reached. If you fail to provide an account number, your savings will remain in your Rabo Goal Savings account. You will then receive interest at a variable rate. Moreover, the interest rate will not be guaranteed. You can transfer your money to another account yourself.

You cannot extend your Rabo Goal Savings after the end date. You can, however, open a new Rabo Goal Savings (Dutch) account at any time.

Withdrawing an amount before the end of the term

You can withdraw money before the end of the term of your Rabo Goal Savings without incurring any withdrawal fees in some exceptional situations, for example if you are getting divorced or become unemployed. In these kinds of situations, you can withdraw the entire balance free of charge. To do this, close the account. You can find all the exceptions in ‘Product characteristics and terms and conditions for Rabo Goal Savings 2024’ below.

Did you open a Rabo Goal Savings account before April 2024? In that case, there are more exceptional situations in which the entire balance can be withdrawn free of charge. Check the terms and conditions you received when you opened or extended your Rabo Goal Savings.

It may be the case that none of these situations apply to you but you still want to withdraw money before the end date is reached. In that case, it is likely that you will have to pay withdrawal fees. You pay these withdrawal fees in advance as a lump sum. You can withdraw the money from your Rabobank branch. The minimum amount you can withdraw is €1,000.

An explanation of how the withdrawal fees are calculated can be found in the product characteristics and terms and conditions, under the heading ‘What are withdrawal fees?’. The document is in Dutch.
