Change your payment account

You can open up to 3 payment accounts online. These can be for yourself, or as a joint and/or account.

Would you like to open a 4th payment account? Please contact us. We’ll discuss why you would like to open an extra payment account.

Once you’ve submitted a change, we’ll get to work for you. The change may be processed immediately, or it may take a few days. This depends on what you want to change. For example, if you change your address, this is processed immediately.

Some applications need to be approved by us first, such as applying for an overdraft or a credit card.

If a second account holder needs to sign, we’ll always inform them via Messages in Rabo Online Banking or the Rabo App. If we need more information, we’ll ask you for it.

If you choose a joint payment account, you’ll always receive 2 debit cards for that account: 1 for you and 1 for your partner. If you choose an account for yourself, 1 debit card is included as standard.

How much you pay for an extra debit card depends on your payment package. If you’re not sure which package you have, check Rabo Online Banking. The name of the package is shown above each payment account.
If you have a joint account with your partner, you can apply for an extra debit card for your partner. You pay the following for an extra debit card:

The main difference between paying with a credit card and paying with a debit card is when the money is debited from your bank account.

If you pay with a Rabobank credit card, you’ll receive a statement with your credit card spending at the end of the month. We debit this amount from your account in one go at the end of the month.
If you pay with your Rabobank debit card, the money is debited from your bank account immediately.
