Card expire date and replacement

Every debit card and credit card has an expiry date. You will receive a new card well before your current card expires.

We automatically send you a new card

Every debit card and credit card is replaced within five years. Each card has an end date. This date is shown next to ‘Valid thru’. You will automatically be sent a new card approximately two months before that date. You do not have to pay an additional fee for this.

Activate your credit card
You must first activate your new credit card. You can do this in the Rabo App or online by going to Activating a debit card or credit card. Your old credit card will be blocked once you have activated your new credit card or two months after you receive your new credit card.

Activate your debit card
With your new debit card, you can withdraw cash or make payments right away. Once you have used your new card, your old debit card will no longer work.

Our debit cards have been updated

The debit card looks different. It now shows a Mastercard or Visa logo, and gives you more ways to pay.

Settings new debit card

Your new debit card has the same settings as the card it replaces. The only thing that changes is the card number. You need that number to log into Rabo Online Banking. Your card number is shown on the front or back of your debit card. The following settings do not change:

PIN Limit for payments at payment terminals and online payments Cash withdrawal limit Settings for payments made outside the Netherlands Settings for contactless payments

Settings new credit card

The PIN for your replacement credit card stays the same. The following details will change:

the expiry date the three-digit code on the back of the card: this is indicated by ‘CVC’ (Mastercard) or ‘CVV’ (Visa)

Keep your account safe, destroy your old card

By destroying your old debit card and credit card, you prevent anyone from misusing them. Cut through the magnetic strip and the chip, then cut the card into small pieces. Make sure your name and account number or credit card number can no longer be read. Throw the pieces away with your regular household waste.
