Transfer to a European account (in the SEPA region)

We are a participant in TARGET Instant Payment Settlement (TIPS). This means you can make instant Euro Payments to most European banks. The money will be in the recipient's account within ten seconds, including on weekends and holidays.

If the recipient’s bank does not support instant Euro Payments, the money will usually arrive in the recipient’s account within one working day.

Expected payment

Are you waiting for a payment from the Netherlands or another euro-zone country? An instant Euro Payment is credited to your account immediately, including on weekends and public holidays. Other payments are received only on working days. If the amount has not been credited yet, please contact the person or organization who made the payment.

Value date for the purposes of your overdraft

The date and time when you make a payment determines the date from which you pay interest. In the case of an incoming payment, the date on which you receive the amount is the value date. The value date is not always the same as the day on which the money is transferred.

If you transfer money to an account with a bank in the Netherlands that does not support instant Euro Payments, the processing time can be slightly longer:

If you send a payment order before 3 p.m. on a working day, the recipient's bank will receive the amount the same day. The moment when the payment is credit to the recipient depends on processing at the recipient’s bank.

If you make a payment after 3 p.m. on a weekday or on a weekend, the recipient’s bank receives the amount the next working day. The moment when the payment is credit to the recipient depends on processing at the recipient’s bank
