Money back after fraud
Did you pay for something yourself and it turns out later that you were scammed? If so, you can take steps to get your money back. This is called starting a procedure. We will explain how this works and what the conditions are.
What should you do in case of an internet scam?
Have you been scammed via a sales website, social media platform, or online store? That’s unfortunate to hear. Sadly, you’ve fallen victim to an internet scam. Read here what you need to do now.
Did the scam take place via a sales platform, such as Marktplaats or Vinted? Report this not only to the police, but also to the platform itself. They may then be able to take action against the seller.

We will be happy to explain to you the conditions for starting a procedure in the case of an internet scam. These conditions also apply to other types of fraud.

I am a victim of fraud
Have you fallen victim to a case of fraud? That’s scary. We will be happy to tell you what steps you need to take if this is the case. In any event, report the fraud immediately via the Emergency Line (088-722 66 00).
What to do in the event of other types of fraud?
- Report the fraud immediately by calling us on 088-722 66 00.
- We will take the report and start an investigation into the fraud.
- File a police report with the (Dutch) police or call 0900-8844.
- Submit the police report to us. After you have notified us, you will receive information on how to do this.
- If, when reporting the fraud, you indicated that you want to start the process to get your money back, we will start this as soon as we have completed the fraud investigation if you have not received the entire amount back by this time.
