Logging out securely

Have you finished your internet banking and want to close Rabo Internet Banking? Always do so securely. There is only one way to do it properly: log out. This is the only way to ensure that someone cannot access your data.

Why log out?

When you go shopping, you lock your front door, right? You make sure that no one can enter your house and steal or rummage through your belongings. Well, it's exactly the same online. If you log out of Rabo Internet Banking, others will not be able to access your bank details.

Misunderstanding

Lots of people think they log out by clicking the ‘x’ at the top right of the screen or by just visiting another website. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that. Your data can still be accessed. You may have closed down an internet page, but you have not yet closed down Rabo Internet Banking.

Rabo Internet Banking will log you off automatically if you no longer use it for 30 minutes. Until then, the system remains accessible. Do you view your data on a public computer? If so, the person who uses it after you may be able to access your data. What’s more, unfortunately, you never know for sure whether your computer has a virus. Internet criminals can transfer money from your account in those 30 minutes without your knowledge.

Make logging out a habit

Always click the ‘Logout’ button before doing anything else. It will soon become a habit and you won’t forget it anymore.
