Difference between available funds and spending limit
Available funds refer to the amount you have left to spend on your credit card. Always check the available funds before making a large payment with your RaboCard or Rabo GoldCard. Insufficient funds for a one-off major expense or for your holiday, for example? In that case, temporarily increase your available funds. Do you need to increase your available funds more often? If so, apply for a higher monthly spending limit via Rabo Internet Banking.
Temporarily increasing the available funds on your credit card
Do you need to increase your available funds for a large purchase on a one-off basis? If so, transfer money from the payment account linked to your credit card. This creates a balance on your credit card.
Change your credit card spending limit
If you regularly reach your spending limit, it is useful to adjust your credit card limit. Your maximum spending limit depends on the type of credit card and payment package you have, and on the income credited to the payment account linked to your credit card. For this purpose, we check the amounts credited to the payment account in the three calendar months before the month in which you apply to change the limit.
To change your limit, keep your phone handy and scan the QR code using the Rabo App to log in. If you do not use the Rabo App, log in with your debit card and Rabo Scanner. If your application is approved, the new limit will apply the next working day. Please note: if your credit card is linked to a joint account, both account holders will have to sign.
