Secure banking in the app and on the website
Thanks to our login procedures you can securely transfer money online using the Rabo App on your mobile phone or on the website.
Secure banking in the app
Before you can use the Rabo App on your mobile phone or tablet, there’s a one-off process in which:
Activating the app with your ID is now quite common and is applied by other banks and organizations at home and abroad. We also use this method when new customers open an account online.
You must activate the app to:
- Register your phone or tablet so we know that you are using the Rabo App on that device
- Decide how you want to log in: using a 5-digit code, your fingerprint or facial recognition
In some cases you still have to use your Rabo Scanner with your debit card and PIN in the Rabo App. Such as when you transfer large amounts. This is for your own security.
Secure banking on the website
Before you can use Rabo Online Banking on your computer, there’s a one-off process for which you will need your debit card, PIN and Rabo Scanner. This is necessary to:
- Register your browser: our website works best with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Apple Safari
- Choose your 5-digit code: you can now use it to log in
In some cases we ask you to log in with your Rabo Scanner, debit card and PIN. This is for your own security.
We may do this, for example, if:
Logging in and signing without a Rabo Scanner
You have several options for logging in and signing, with or without the Rabo Scanner.
More secure online credit card payments
If you choose to pay with your Rabobank credit card, when making a payment, you now approve the payment in Rabobank’s online environment. Open the Rabo App or Rabo Online Banking during the payment process and approve the payment in ‘Pending transactions’. We call this 3D Secure Authentication.
